Planning on purchasing the track wheels and slicks off my buddies old track car for the time being. Going to ease in to it. I'm sure brake lines and pads will be next on the list. That and a whole lot of blue painters tape..

I'm no expert but slicks may over work a stock setup. If you're serious about easing in, consider a DOT tire to start. But maybe others can better guide you. Get in on the track threads.
I found myself "easing" in this summer over 10 days in Colorado and to my wife's dismay I'm ~$10k into brakes, suspension, pads, wheels, data acquisition.
Everyone warned me of the slippery slope but I'm skating down it. Next stop cage and seats.
