I don't see how a motor mount will cause bearing wear in #1, but regardless you should be problem free for many miles now.
I guess the rationale was that the engine was not properly balanced due to this broken motor mount and that it could have led to additional vibrations in the engine causing premature wear of the rod bearings.
In any case, I had started to hear a faint "rubbing/ticking" sound when cruising between 2,000-3,000 RPM and I am certainly glad I had it checked out before the engine blew up.
