About powder coating the covers, I talked to a specialist that told me powder coating is BS on magnesium, only for looks. He said get the covers glass blasted and paint them with grill paint and the channel where gasket goes.
To make your used valve covers look factory new or even better much more goes into them than just media blasting them and painting them with grill paint. Once you remove the 2 part epoxy you will see how shitty the cast covers truly are. And over time degrade and will need sanding grinding and resurfacing. Powder coating holds up way better than any paint product ever would
