Cars sold in the EUSSR count towards corporate CO2 emissions and the manufacturers get fined for an average which exceeds 130(?)gm/km of The Satan Gas.

Therefore, BMW has long been pushing customers towards the DCT/auto versions of their lineup, as these can be optimised for the emissions cycle.

As a result, buying a manual M3 has necessitated a factory order as almost no manual cars were stock-ordered by dealers since 2009. As factory orders tend to cost more (because dealers don't get the same financial incentives as they do with stock-ordered cars) it has been an easy sell to push customers into DCT cars. Quicker delivery too.

Even so, I am surprised to see just 300 post-LCI right hand drive E92s were built. As that covers UK, South Africa, Australia, India, Japan, New Zealand, and maybe some other markets that I forget.

That makes my 6MT Competition Pack E92 even more rare than I realised.

And enjoyable too. Now with F10 M5 gearknob.
