I think you can hear more valvetrain noise at idle but once you get moving it doesn't seem any different to me. I dig this mod for this car so far after driving it a couple days it seems like a no-downsides thing, assuming you don't mind bypassing a factory safety device and can be trusted to remember to close and latch your hood
I don't think the factory filters did all that much for exterior smells. I worry about dust in the HVAC/heater core but I run around with auto-recirc on all the time so hopefully that sensor works. IT's notlike I live in the desert
