I have been using M1 0W40 for 5 years but bought some M1 5W50 to try, mainly because the oil is running 10-15F hotter with the 10-15F hotter coolant thermostat and I am curious whether the thicker oil will drop the temp a few degrees. Probably not, but it will handle the hotter temperature better, although 0W40 is fine at 235F.
