I'd argue that the coupe is more distinguished from its lesser brethren by a carbon fiber roof. Other than that, the m sedan and m coupe each have the same number of different body panels over their non-M variant counterparts...
flared quarters, unique front and rear fascia, power domed hood, etc.

Both the E90 and E92 look comparably different from the standard 3 series but with the coupe also having the benefit of the CF roof. On a lighter color car, this makes the most significant visual difference.
