At 132k miles the owner wanted to proactively replace his bearings for the peace of mind. There were no symptoms- the engine ran fine with no abnormal tendencies or sounds when it arrived. Just goes to show you that you can't be sure about your bearings. You're fine one mile, the next mile you're not.

These shells were so poorly worn and overheated that they were bowed enough to "clip" onto each journal. Very luck there was no journal damage. Scary, and in the nick of time.
