Have a look at this spreadsheet I made. Analyse the Power to Weight Ratios and Gearing Ratios.
Now, as far as I understand, the E46 M3 Manual and SMG have the same ratio.
Not sure about the DCT and Manual, so in one way, it is a fair comparison, because the DCT is quicker than a Manual, so figures should be conservative, if anything...
