If you're going to be in Munich sometime between April 15 and May 1st, check out Fruhlingsfest (Spring Festival). It's held at the same place as Oktoberfest, at Theresienwiese. It's done to a smaller scale than Oktoberfest, but it's very much worth checking out, especially to get inside one of the tents for a liter of beer and some food.
