Thank you for your posts, I really appreciate the comments.
Today I found out BMW in Houston thought they could program the daytime lights to stay on 'permanently', but that the programming was a min. charge of $200. I lost some interest when I heard the cost.
Also, last night I phoned a second Canadian Tire store in Calgary and they said they know that the headlights can be turned off via idrive, but as long as the daytime lights are on/activated during their inspection, that's all they need.
So, I'm going to roll the dice and not do any reprogramming right now. Obviously I will leave the idrive setting to daytime lights on, have the inspection done, and let you guys know how it all goes. It will be about a month from now. Cheers!!
