Sid, by all means do NOT attempt to use all seasons on the M. You will most definitely end up in a ditch! Blizzaks all the way. Lets hit the links again and I will spew snow tire knowledge on your ass all day
The 255 rears will just have a little stretch to them and won't look terrible. As far as going to a narrower size, that is beneficial in snowy conditions. Check out every rally car's tires for dirt/mud/snow; the tires are extremely narrow to cut through the slop as opposed to plow through it.
Blizzaks are what I have run on all of my cars since I was a kid and I absolutely love them.
