Zoom in a little more so as to not have as strong of a frame created by the a pillars, windshield, & dash. Also to try exposure lock on the center of the frame.
I don't have much hope for either fixing it but will give them a try. Sounds like lots of people having different panning issues using hyper smooth and are hoping for an update.

I have done a lot of GoPro testing specifically in the M3. I tried linear, wide, narrow, wind, stereo only, exposure lock, protune with and without. you name it,
I will update my settings when I am back home.
