I'm pretty sure it's just plain old leather embossed with the pattern of carbon fiber. It certainly behaves like leather to touch and care (cleaning/treating).

I'm a bit of a carbon fiber junkie but I don't like it on interiors due to the glossy finish typically applied. So Carbon Leather was a perfect compromise. I'm considering getting my center console wrapped in some vinyl that matches Carbon Leather almost 100%.
