Great post..I for one am careful about maintaince..often times doing key maintaince well in advance and/or with greater frequency.
Key items for me ..
Oil every 5K
Techron fuel concentrate every 5K
Flush brake fluid every 2 yrs ( I use a fluid w/a higher wet/dry boiling point)
Flush radiator every 3 yrs
Differntial Fluid every 20K
This may seem excessive..but IMO cheap insurance especially if you are keeping the car for the long haul.
