This entire thread is a prime example of why the US market never received the Euro version of the E36 M3 with the S50B30 & B32 engines....
Back in the 90s BMW felt that an American was not willing to spend $50K on an E36 M3 so they came out with the US version that was nothing more than a beefed up 328 with a new head, crank, and cams.
It looks like they were right then, and they might be wrong now... It appears that Americans are still not willing to pay the price of BMW performance.
