Exactly. My love for watches (and cars, and real estate, and the list goes on) fueled my ambition to work towards them.
If you're buying a fake, you're either saying:
1) I want the real thing, but can't afford it (In which case you should think of it as inspiration and work towards it)
2) I want to be perceived as someone who can afford the real thing, but can't (deeper, sad issues here).
3) I've heard the argument "I can afford the real thing, but the real ones are overpriced and a waste of money, so I'll buy a fake"... well guess what, you have good watches out there for <$1,000 that you could buy...so if you're buying a fake of a Rolex, AP, etc. then you're contradicting yourself because you could easily get a "real" watch for way cheaper, you just want the brand...see point 2 above.
