My first car when I was about 17 was a brand new 2016 6MT G35 coupe. I cringe thinking back that I actually owned that car and thought it was 'cool'... I sold it my sophomore year in college thank god, but I put about 50K or miles on it over those years. I've had the e90 M3 for over a year now, and it's not even in the same universe.. literally it's not even close. Tremendously faster, but also better in every single other aspect. styling, sound, acceleration, handling, thrill, etc. I wouldn't judge your experience based on a test drive. There is no telling what shape a car is in when the owner is stupid enough to not let you take it over 6K RPM. I'd just decide to switch and then find the best shape E9x you can find in your range, probably best to find one on here from an enthusiast, and buy it.
