My previous car, like you, was also a 2005 350Z roadster (non HR) and trust me the difference is night and day. The roadster was a quick little nibble car, with nice and predictable acceleration. I used to have 2010 camaro SS before the roadster so I know v8 power, but the M3 scared me until I got used to it. In the M3 I'll look down and think 'wtf I'm going to get myself arrested!' And 4000-8000 RPM is when that happens. Another astonishing feeling is how fast you can get from 60-100 mph on the freeway. There's no comparison between this and the roadster. It's a true pleasure to drive in terms of power, looks, practically, and interior quality.
