I wanted the better tread wear, less grip, and more audible feedback at the limit on track. These are also supposed to be street tires, hence the desire to have the longer lasting 180TW tires.
I personally didn't enjoy driving at COTA on NT01s. I had a hard time learning the limit of the tires, and one of my instructors showed me that I wasn't even close the the limit of their grip. TWS is the only track I feel comfortable running at using tires that provide less audible feedback than most street tires.
