The car definitely has room for wider wheels (I run 9.5" and 10" front wheels) but when you go with 20's you don't have decent tire options. With 18's or 19's you can run 245's, 255's, 265's. or 275's in the front. With 20" wheels you are pretty much stuck using 245's or 255's. Running really wide wheels with those tire sizes is pointless and in fact I would argue negatively impacts performance. 9" is about as wide as I would go with 255's. 9.5" is ok but unnecessary.
