Hankook W310 Winter iCept Evo Review

I installed these tires on my car about 5 weeks ago and thought it's a good time for a review. I'll qualify this review by saying that is my first set of winter tires in a while and my first winter with the M3. Previously I had been driving a truck for the past 10 years and the tires it had on it worked well in the winter. My wife's van had Nokian WR tires for winter and summer as well.

Now on to the review. Overall I'm quite impressed. I installed them on the stock 18" wheels 245/40/18 all around. The rear tires are definitely a little stretched and I may look at getting a narrower wheel in the future. I went this route as I want to get new wheels for the summer.

The biggest snow we've had is 4" and the car and tires combo handled this quite well. The only issue I had was leaving a parking spot. I was parked against a curb and there was about 5-6" of fresh snow around the car. When I tried to pull out the back end of the car kept wanting to slide down to the curb. I think the TCS likely played a part as it kept killing the throttle.

We've had lots of icy roads (as is the norm around here) and these tires handle them easily. Straight line and lateral grip are all very good.

I'd definitely recommend these tires to others looking for a set of winters.
