I personally am not bitter at all about it. I don't even care as much about all the money they're spending. As a different, tradition-based culture, the English value certain events (incl. royal weddings) and treat them accordingly.
What pisses me off is the amount of media attention it gets here. Why do citizens of the US have to care? Keep it to the tabloids, I don't want to hear about it.
