It's good to hear that most likely it is not a serious issue. The sound the car makes is rather scary to hear in person.
Shamza, did you get the Idle Control Valve from a BMW dealer, or bought a VDO "replacement" (afaik this is exactly the same part, originally produced by VDO as well). I have checked and in my country this thing is completely unobtainable, both dealership and all replacement shops.
Also, did you get any fault code? Were there any other issues connected with this part?
