Here's perspective!

The Dodge Demon actual crank horsepower is over 900hp based on time they ran when the NHRA recognized and banned it from events all at the same time.

This places the actual rear wheel horsepower near the 840 it's advertised at.

I use the demon as an example since it's also 4300lbs, and most are hitting low 10s with 300 extra HP at the crank. Even being RWD, the transbrake and Drive line hooks the car very well making the difference between RWD vs. AWD figures nearly void.
The Demon has far more grip off the line than a stock F90, as evidenced by it's 1.0 second 0-30mph time. It pulls 2.9 second wheelies after all! I'm seeing a trap speed difference of about 10 mph at 1/4 mile (127 vs 137). You think an extra 300 hp only results in an additional 10mph? I actually think the Demon makes the case that the M5 is making more power than advertised, unless BMW is really stating 600hp at the wheels when they quote 600hp.
