If I had a real bad incident...I wouldn't expect a roll bar to do a ton more than what's already designed in the car.
I think the biggest risk based on likelihood and severity to deal with is a side impact. I've never heard of someone getting their spine crushed. I have witnessed 5 injuries from a side impact. Particularly the door.
...just a thought.

Yeah, seems that E46 holds up really well in crashes. I should get a track prepped and caged Miata or E36 for maximum safety.

Seems like this car held up pretty well for going the the side of a cliff. No harness, helmet or roll bar.
