The tech is quoting what BMW has traditionally allowed: 1 ltr every 1,000 km.

My experience with my S54 2002 M Coupe was more like 1 ltr every 3,000 miles (note unit difference). As best as I recall anyway.

My S65 2010 M3 still shows max oil after 2,000 miles but it has no dip stick either.

Neither call was tracked although they were occasionally driven hard, compared to a non-M motor.
