The Combox retrofit outside the US is already done -Combox Media. The US retrofit -Combox Telematics- is not ready 100% yet.
Any MY2009+ with the latest CIC iDrive update supports the Combox. So it would be very easy for BMW to offer an OEM Combox retrofit to any new CIC iDrive but that looks like it won't happen.
