As mentioned earlier that price suggests they are removing the pan. Installing a timesert with the pan in place can be done, but can be installed incorrectly (happened to me). Because of the crush washer, it is critical that it installed square to the existing hole. Otherwise issues can arise. If you've been thinking of doing the rod bearings, this would be a good opportunity as removing the pan is about 1/2 of the job.
If you're going to have it repaired in place, try finding a shop that specializes in spark plug thread repair. I regret not going to the one near me.
