Phones have gotten to a point that last years iPhone is still good enough for me.
I used to want the latest and greatest, but now it seems that the latest is not that much greater than last years, at least not great enough to shell out the £800 or so for the new one.

The A11 chip is insanely powerful and has potential that makes the a10 look ordinary. The stuff they can do once apps catch up with the a11 potential will be very intriguing.
