Leaf watching season is a real thing in the Blue Ridge Mnt. IF you want any kind of spirited driving experience you have to go in an off-season. I was just there 3 weeks ago and it was snowing, you just can't plan on nice weather. It was a non-issue as the road was open to me and 4 bikes for 2 days. Not to mention, if you don't have reservations now for peak leaf season, you'll be hard pressed to find a room.
I'll probably make a day trip out of it, so count me in.
