I'm having stupid thoughts about the 255/40-17 on my 17x10's. I saw a couple guys running 255/40-17 RE71's on 9.5's and 10's on S2000's at the track last weekend and it looks pretty decent, and the Yoke is wider by a good bit

They're about the same section width as the 275/40-17 Conti ECS I was considering for my next set of tires on these wheels, with MORE tread width by a tenth of an inch, and nice and short around the same height as various 30-series 18's. The wheel/tire package would weigh right at 40lb each. Space the rear out to get some cornering grip back maybe, but it'd still be pretty rowdy in the lower gears even with near stock power

It'd be slightly less idiotic to get the Falkens in 275/40 but they're old and I like new hotness, Every time I price 18" tires now I have to be defibrillated
