I'm siding with the engineer here. The only reason to want or need a manual transmission at this point is because you like operating a clutch. There isn't any added control over this PDK, especially with the clutch kick feature being added. If this provides instant shifts on command, runs into the redline without auto-upshifting, and allows you to disengage the clutch when you please, then there's literally nothing that a traditional manual has over this except an added pedal to make you feel "more involved and connected."
