I might. I know I bought an E92 b/c I thought the 6er didn't have enough practicality, seeing as a normal sized man can't sit comfortably, even for short periods, in the rear of the 6er. So, if I really craved the lux at (or above) the level of a 6, but wanted to retain the practicality and more tossable feel of the 3er, it doesn't hit me as that unreasonable a thing to consider.
One thing's certain, if one has $200K to spend on a car, the car's status is clearly subordinate to one's own status, so the issue of it looking like a gussied up 3er would be a non-issue. Buying such a car is really just a matter of whether it's what one wants.
