Do the PFC 08 have the OEM style anti-rattle clip? I would never recommend pads without the clips for beginners. I've had very good experience with the Pagid RS 19 yellows, 3 years on and still have a weekend left on.
Also guys you cannot a generalize for beginners, some go from novice to advanced in 4-5 events, so not everyone is cut from the same cloth. Brake pads are absolutely a safety item, unlike tack tires which can wait.
After my first event I went the gradual route and I regret it deeply, what a waste of money. If you put heavy deposits on the rotors quickly you will know what expensive means. Just skip the intermediate steps and get the right pads from the get go.
