Its not preferable to use anything other than 10W60 but that doesnt mean that your motor is hurt in anyway.I do understand your frustration and prolly some new guy thats not familiar with M models and what kind of oil they usually use but the guy in the parts dep should wake up.
m sure your dealer will do the right thing and take care of it.
