I did a 3 day HPDE at Summit Point this past weekend...
As practice for 2011 Tire Rack One Lap of America.
Mine is a STOCK 2011 ZCP Sedan. It has maxed factory equipment front negative camber spec @ -1.7 degrees. I'm running 255/35/19 and 275/35/19 PSS on ZCP OEM Wheels, still with stagger.
Quick impressions:
In the WET with full tread depth you can leave EVERYONE in the spray if brave enough. Went a while on MDM and then finally stopped "cheating". The tires are brilliant. I'm praying for rain on One Lap, except I don't want all our junk to get wet... Hmmm.
I was able to push these hard for most of a 20 minute dry session and they don't get greasy. They were very consistent. Jefferson Circuit is tough on a 3700 pound car and I did not fare as well as I do when running an E90 M3 at the Lightning or Thunderbolt NJMP Circuits by comparison. Summit Point main is also pretty tough on tires. Being lazy and not getting camber plates for additional negative camber is a drawback here.
My front outer shoulders definitely took a beating.
One Lap is a series of "3 hot lap" sprints.
3-4 20 minute sessions a day is another level of (ab)use all together.
Michelin has an impressive product here. Bravo!
