It's hard to imagine anyone wanting to fork over $15k for that paint, but I guess to that one buyer "it's special."

What year did you have your Bav? My father purchased a new '72 Bavaria (my avatar), I got my license in it in 1974, and I later bought it from him in 1980. I owned it for the following 14+ years. I had a wicked motor built by Korman in 1981, triple webers, etc, and did the suspension, wheels, Recaros, etc. It was a super fast, well-handling car that I tracked and autocrossed like a mad man all through the 80s.
