Getting that last tenth is hard on the brakes, especially since it can result in over braking (or romping and stomping if you're into the red mist chasing down the ar in front of you).

Not what I meant
I meant a more experienced driver who's more in tune with things can brake less and brake smoother, putting less wear on than a less experienced driver who may be harder on equipment.
For a while I was trying to figure out late braking and slamming hard on brakes. I got smoother recently with brake engagement!
