iND | KW DDC

BMW’s EDC technology has been a staple of the BMW M driving experience since it’s first appearance in European E30 M3 models. A simple in-cabin switch allowed the driver to switch from modes “Komfort”, “Normal”, and “Sport” and introduced a new level of driver adjustability to the M car. BMW’s quest for the ultimate performance sedan would forever include an emphasis on every day use and comfort.

The EDC feature found in the E9x M3 is the result of 20 years of refinement and engineering development, so it is no surprise that many M3 enthusiasts are loathe to remove it. For the past four years M3 owners who wanted to improve the car’s handling performance had to make a sacrifice in it’s flexibility and ease of adjustment.

After years of effort KW’s DDC system has arrived to let M3 owners have their cake and eat it too. The standard KW features are all there: stainless steel shock bodies for extremely long service life, height adjustment for the perfect ride height setting, perfectly matched springs to give sharper turn-in response and better mechanical grip. With DDC KW delivers the one feature no other manufacturer has been able to create.

DDC suspension features a specialized DDC module that gives M3 drivers the ability to adjust the stiffness of their dampers on the fly from either in cabin controls or from an app available for any smart phone. DDC goes beyond the standard abilities of the M3’s EDC system and gives the driver adjustable front and rear bias and the ability to save settings and setup profiles.

Please contact an IND representative for more information on the new DDC coilover kits.
