Well I'm happy and sad reading this thread after a few years. Had to skip my attainable dream car.. still my 335is is plenty fun for now.
Hopefully the M4 won't present major issues like this in the next years when it falls into budget and I'll be able to say I own an actual M car.
Seeing some main bearings go out is the thing that made me not want to take the chance to pay big $$$ for a new motor if it ever went out...
