I suppose the point should be made in a bit broader terms
I should have made some distinctions for merchandising. This would be along the same line as a sports team selling t-shorts, mugs, pens, etc. Nobody thinks of this as diluting the images of the sports team.
I guess my point is M doesn't go as far as some other brands. Maybe some day they will. Some day we may be able to buy M branded kitchen knives. After all, germans make great knives!
