It will and can detect a curb initially during approach but it will fall off the horizon as soon as you get closer. The front sensors in the OEM location on the e9X are too high to effectively detect curbs all of the time. If you're working with an undrilled bumper without holes I would consider placing the front sensor towards the bottom of the bumper like other BMW models.
