Sorry, forgot to update. I replaced the driver's side but it did not help. Ive tried half a dozen times to get the passenger side out but have given up and will have to take it to the shop to get that one done. They require a lot of force to get loose and while I can get a socket on it with a wobbler I can't generate enough force to break it loose. The angle is almost 90 degrees and it just won't go. Yesterday I had my wife start the car while I had my hand on the tensioner and I could feel the noise pretty strongly so I'm confident it will fix the problem once replaced. |
If you removed the passenger side wheel, fender liner and if necessary the reinforcement plate, you should be able to access the tensioner.
