Yes, my problems were with the origional wheels and tires. Aftermarket street tires on the stock rims didn't really help it.

Now the interesting thing to me is I had a chance to drive 3 diffrent E46 M3s back to back on the same test course a few months back. I drove my 2002 car which was stock, a 2002 convert with sway bars, and a bone stock 2005 convertable. I was easily the fastest in the 2005 car and it didn't have the issues of the earlier 02 cars.

Its appeared to me they did some form of mid life changes to the car that took out some of the dumbing down.
