This is correct. The KW V3 uses a progressive front spring therefore it doesn't typically have the same clearance issues presented by the club sport or other more track oriented coil overs with linear springs and a helper. However the clearance could come into play if you run them at an extremely low ride height - pushing the spring and perch in the path of the tire.

One data point - I did test a 10.5 et22 wheel with a 285/30/18 RE71R tire with KW V3. They fit without need for a spacer. Ebisu8's wheel set is 10 et21 which is 7mm further away from the strut when compared to 10.5 et22.
