My post emphasizes that average monthly temperatures in Pittsburg are pretty moderate. (see below) Given that it's not exactly Texas or Arizona when it comes to climate and that the thermodynamic physics of air to water cooling are exponential, rather than linear, the effects of 5w-30 oil in your car should have little to no effect. In-fact in the winter months it's actually be of benefit when it comes to cold starting.
I stand by my earlier statement, get over it and don't let inconsequential issues like this burden you with gastronomical reactions.
