Received my extended warranty 'invitation' in the post yesterday - my car will be 3years old on 19th July.

The letter provides an illustrative example,...

A BMW M3 with a mileage of 50,000 miles, an excess of £100 and including BMW Emergency Service.
  • Comprehensive = £835
  • Named Component = £706
  • DriveLine = £557

On reading the above I thought to myself "well at least mine will cost less than that as I've only done 15,000 miles".

Wrong

It doesn't matter how low your mileage is - the warranty cost is the same right up to 60,000 miles

Not happy about that and now need to think seriously whether to go for it, or take the risk especially given the low mileage of my car.

Also interesting is that based on other posts in this thread the warranty cost is the same for the Convertible and the Coupe.
