I would avoid paying more than a few percent over MSRP for any new car; you usually end up regretting it later (at least, my friends who have done this regretted it). Patience is required sometimes on a recently introduced model...

The caveat is that some values on very desirable short-run cars never fall much or at all, and then you have a late-model collectable car. If Porsche discontinues the GT4 after only two model years, I would expect to see them follow a similar price pattern to other recent cars like the BMW 1M and Audi TT RS. These limited production late-models show very strong resale until the fervor dies down over some period of time, but then eventually may become true collector's cars years down the road.
