I autocross my 6MT and the 2d gear gearing, combined with my 4.10 final drive, is the primary reason that I chose the 6MT. For track and most street driving the DCT is superior in performance and about as involving for those that drive as you describe.

Both are great options and we get to pick whichever we like better it is a great thing IMO.
I find there are so many biases in opinions (DCT owners feeling the need to defend their transmission from ridicule by 6MT owners and 6MT owners basing the size of their e-peen on a clutch pedal) that it makes it hard, if not impossible, to have a decent discussion on the matter. Glad there are 6MT guys out there like you that are smart and unbiased enough to be able to appreciate both trannies.
